Savchuk Publishing House decided to go beyond ordinary books and create a project that would attract the attention of a modern reader. The book about the destroyed masterpieces of Ukrainian wooden sacred architecture – the churches – carries a huge historical, scientific, and cultural value. However, to make the book more interesting and accessible, Savchuk Publishing House decided to use modern technology and create an augmented reality book.
The main goal of the project was to showcase churches that no longer exist today. To do this, the book contained QR codes that allowed the reader to go into a 3D scene in augmented reality. This way, the reader could see what the church looked like in reality and immerse themselves in the historical atmosphere.
