An interactive 3D shelf configurator enabled the client to transform a complex furniture selection process into a simple, intuitive, and scalable online experience. With real-time visualization, users can build custom shelf configurations, instantly see the result, and make faster purchase decisions. For the business, this means higher conversion rates, fewer order errors, and an efficient sales automation tool that reduces the need for constant manager involvement.

The AESTAR team took over the development of the web configurator and gave it a new phase of growth, turning it into a stable and manageable product.

At the core of the solution is a 3D configurator where users can adjust shelf parameters — dimensions, elements, and layouts — and immediately see the updated result. This allows customers to clearly understand the final product before purchasing and significantly simplifies the decision-making process.

We focused on making the configurator behave in a predictable and logical way. The behavior of 3D models was refined to ensure they respond correctly to any parameter changes. In parallel, we implemented a system of dependencies between elements, ensuring that users cannot create invalid or physically impossible configurations. This improves user experience and reduces errors at the ordering stage.

We also developed a custom admin panel from scratch, allowing the client’s team to manage the configurator independently. It enables them to control available options, update previews, and manage the system state without involving developers, providing flexibility and faster operations.

In addition, we established a solid technical foundation for the project by setting up Git and automating code delivery processes across environments. As a result, the client gained a transparent development workflow and confidence in the stability of the product.

Ultimately, the configurator evolved from a visual tool into a full-fledged part of the sales funnel, helping the business operate more efficiently and scale its online sales.
